Free Environmental Training Programme Announced

BETRE has announced its free training programme for 2010, worth up to £500 per delegate. BETRE provides practical and independent advice to small and medium sized businesses in East Sussex on how to cut utility costs, environmental impact and carbon emissions.

Simple Utilities Management Seminar (SUMS) – One day event

A practical and focused one day workshop to help your business effectively monitor and manage utility costs and reduce environmental risk.

Workshops will run throughout East Sussex including Brighton and Hove as follows:

Weds 28th April 2010 - Brighton
Weds 12th May 2010 - Battle
Weds 6th October 2010 - Bexhill

Organics – Half day event. Weds 16th June 2010, Lewes

Find out about food waste composting, the legislation and practicalities and a trial project with Lewes businesses.

Climate Change and Carbon Management – 1 day event. 19th May 2010, Eastbourne

Help your organisation to prepare and adapt for climate change, calculate your carbon footprint, learn about carbon offsetting and find out about renewable energy technology. Includes a visit to a local renewable energy installation.

The Easy Way to Environmental Management Systems (EMS), 22 Sept, 20 Oct and 24 Nov 2010, Hastings

3 x 1 day workshops to enable you to implement an EMS in your business in three manageable and convenient stages – following the set stages of the BS8555 EMS standard. Delegates must attend all 3 workshops.
