The Exchange is an exhibition and meeting venue incorporating a sustainable restaurant, opening early 2010.
Based at the South Queensway Enviro21 Park, The Exchange will be a focal point for innovation and collaboration serving the whole network of Enviro21 Innovation Parks - a link between business, training providers and academia.
Companies, universities, think tanks, professional bodies and research institutes will come together at The Exchange to debate the latest developments, formulate new ideas and share knowledge. It will be the focus for a wide-ranging programme of events, seminars and networking tailored for client companies and other local firms.

The Exchange will also be a place to see demonstrations of new developments and best practice - for companies and the wider community alike.
The building itself will act as a showcase of environmental technologies - a place where you can see rain water harvesting and a biomass boiler system in action.
The restaurant within The Exchange, as well as serving locally produced food, will have a sustainably designed kitchen. This will include induction cooking systems, a de-watering system to minimise food waste and special enzyme-based degreasers to replace traditional manual grease traps.
The building has a mixed mode ventilation system but in general, natural ventilation will maintain comfortable temperature levels. The meeting and exhibition spaces have opening windows and wind cowls which promote circulation of cool fresh air and remove warm stale air.
Heating will be provided from a biomass boiler with the environmental benefits of a central wood burning system, using wood pellets or chips.
Rainwater will be collected for use in toilet flushing.
The Exchange will feature green roofs with wildflower planting, to encourage bio-diversity and to help modulate internal temperatures.
In addition, The Exchange is involved in European projects to develop a low carbon economy and to explore ways to manage climate change.
The Exchange will ultimately play an important role in helping to reduce the south east’s carbon footprint and to enhance its competitiveness in the environmental technologies field.
The Exchange is supported and part funded by:
